SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides health care services and school based community health referrals at and from a school site.

- Administers first aid and health treatments under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Administers medicines according to Arizona Law and as directed by District policy under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Maintains student health and immunization records, supplies, and equipment.
- Participates as a member of the school’s intervention team.
- Coordinates annual screenings for vision and hearing per State of Arizona requirements.
- Maintains logs and appointment schedules.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of:
- First Aid and child health issues and treatments.
- Basic administrative support skills including record keeping.
- Health care equipment and supplies.
- Health care records and reports.
Ability to:
- Recognize the seriousness of health care needs of children and provide first aid under the direction of the RN.
- Operate a computer and related software.
- Maintain effective relationships with others, communicate effectively verbally and written.
- Maintain records and reports.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge and abilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification in the State of Arizona as a Certified Nurse Assistant or School Health Assistant required.
